Walk in the Wissahickon

Emerald creek laid among Lenape land

Offers some relief from the works of man

Sitting as a bird on a bow

I often wonder which way life may go

She changes with the seasons you can watch her turn the page

Early in the morning you can hear the creek exclaim

Oh these trees unravel my pride

And help me learn to keep an open mind

With every moment spent inside the valley

Yeah I'm waiting like a wild seed

To germinate along with spring

So I pause and sit beside an oak tree

Lost in her analogies

Feel a spark inside of me

Oo-aye-yah!

La la la la la

Skipping little stones across from the water's edge

For no apparent reason but it seems to provide rest

And demonstrate the tension in our lives

Oh may we learn to live with open eyes

With every moment spent inside the valley

Yeah I'm waiting like a wild seed

To germinate along with spring

So I pause and sit beside an oak tree

Yeah lost in her analogies

Oh I feel that spark inside of me

Singing oh! Such a wonderful place

Oh! It's such a beautiful way

To spend some time below the streets

Oh to let my mind run free

Oh! I could sit here all day

Oh! So many memories await

I may wander endlessly

And watch the sunset through the trees

Oo-aye-yah! La la la la la
